Cube - area and volume

Cube

A = 6 * a * a

V = a * a * a

A = Area

V = volume

a = cube side

WHAT IS IT ?

A cube is a three-dimensional geometric shape with six equal square faces, twelve equal edges, and eight vertices. The properties of a cube include equal edge lengths, where all the faces are squares of the same size, and all internal angles are right angles (90 degrees). The surface area of a cube is the total area of all six faces. The volume of a cube is the space enclosed within it. Cubes are fundamental shapes in geometry and have various applications in mathematics, architecture, engineering, and design. They are often found in everyday objects such as dice, building blocks, and boxes.

CALCULATION:

Enter unit e.g.: inch

Enter cube side

Enter the number of decimal places

EXAMPLE:

The side of the cube is, for example, 8 cm. Thus, a = 8.

area of the cube:

We use the formula

A = 6 * a * a

thus

A = 6 * 8 * 8

A = 384 cm2

volume of the cube:

We use the formula

V = a * a * a

thus

V = 8 * 8 * 8

V = 512 cm3
