Square - perimeter and area

Square

C = 4 * a

A = a * a

A = area

P = perimeter

a = side "a"

WHAT IS IT ?

A square is a four-sided polygon, or quadrilateral, with all sides of equal length and all internal angles equal to 90 degrees. It is a special type of rectangle and rhombus. The properties of a square include equal diagonals that bisect each other at right angles and divide the square into two congruent isosceles right triangles. The area of a square can be calculated using the formula: Area = side length², and the perimeter can be calculated as: Perimeter = 4 * side length. Squares are fundamental shapes in geometry and are used in various applications in mathematics, design, and architecture.

CALCULATION:

Enter unit e.g.: inch

Enter side "a"

Enter the number of decimal places

EXAMPLE:

The side of the square is, for example, 8 cm. Thus, a = 8.

perimeter of the square:

We use the formula

C = 4 * a

thus

C = 4 * 8

C = 32 cm

area of the square:

We use the formula

A = a * a

thus

A = 8 * 8

A = 64 cm²
